Key notes: Volunteer Speedway’s The Gauntlet continues with Wednesday’s $10,000-to-win second round for unsanctioned Super Late Models. … The four-day program began when Jonathan Davenport led all 30 laps of Tuesday’s $7,500 opener and continues with Friday’s $20,000-to-win third round before concluding with Saturday’s $30,000-to-win finale. A fan fest event will take place from noon-6 p.m. during Thursday’s lone quiet night. … Davenport, of Blairsville, Ga., is a two-time FloRacing Series winner at Volunteer, earning more than $30,000, and enters fresh off a sweep of April 10-11’s MLRA Spring Nationals in Wheatland, Mo. … Mike Marlar of Winfield, Tenn., seeks his second Volunteer victory this season after winning March 13’s $12,000 WoO-sanctioned Rocky Top Rumble. Marlar also swept 2024’s Spring Thaw, worth more than $42,000 on the now-defunct XR Super Series. … Chris Madden of Gray Court, S.C., is a four-time feature winner there since 2020, collecting more than 36,000. … Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, Ga., is also a four-time Volunteer winner since July of 2022, including 2024’s Volunteer 50, earning more than $72,000 over that span. … Jimmy Owens of Newport, Tenn., is back aboard a No. 20 CVR Race Car owned by track promoter Vic Hill. … In winning Tuesday’s opener, Davenport becomes the first driver eligible for a $100,000 bonus should he compete in each of the next three Gauntlet races and win Saturday's $30,000 finale. … Sportsman Late Models are on Wednesday’s undercard along with Saturday’s finale; street stocks share the spotlight in Friday’s third round. … Pits open at 3 p.m. and grandstands open at 4 with racing at 7 nightly. … Watch live on The Thrill TV.
