Mid-June weekend rainouts, postponements
Among non-national touring Dirt Late Model special and sanctioned events rained out, postponed or cancelled June 18-22 (among other schedule changes); rescheduled date included unless no makeup date was immediately announced:
Summer Nationals: Sunday's DIRTcar Summer Nationals event at Lincoln (Ill.) Speedway and Monday's event at Peoria (Ill.) Speedway rained out.
Southern Thunder: Saturday's Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series event at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Ala., rained out; additionally and unrelated to weather, Big South Fork Raceway in Huntsville, Tenn., announced its July 3 Southern Thunder event has been removed from the schedule.
Sooner: The Ross Foundation Sooner Late Model Series cancelled Saturday's $1,566-to-win event at Caney (Kan.) Valley Speedway because of rain and saturated grounds.
MS Crate: The MS Crate Late Model Racing Series cancelled Saturday's $2,000-to-win event at Greenville (Miss.) Speedway because of rain.
Southern Clash: Southern Clash Late Model Series officials postponed Saturday's $2,500-to-win event at Swainsboro (Ga.) Raceway to Saturday, Aug. 15, because of rain and heavily saturated grounds.
CRUSA 604: Crate Racin' USA 604 Series officials cancelled Saturday's $4,000-to-win event at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Miss., because of rain.
Southern Thunder: Friday's Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series weekend opener at Penton (Ala.) Raceway rained out, though Saturday's $7,542-to-win B.J. Parker Memorial at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Ala., is still on as scheduled.
Summer Nationals: DIRTcar Summer Nationals officials cancelled Thursday's $5,000-to-win event at Dubuque (Iowa) Speedway (pictured) as rain hit just before hot laps.
Spring Nationals: Thursday's Schaeffer's Spring Nationals event at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Ga., was rescheduled for July 11.
Red Clay: Thursday's Red Clay Series event at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Ga., was rescheduled for June 26.
