Weekend cancellations, postponements
With continuous rounds of showers and storms, including severe weather, forecast for the next three days, this weekend’s MARS Late Model Championship Series-sanctioned Nippy 50 doubleheader at Maquoketa (Iowa) Speedway has been cancelled. The Jeff Hoker-promoted event won't be rescheduled, pushing the MARS season-opening weekend to April 16 at Cedar County Raceway in Tipton, Iowa, and April 17-18’s Slocum 50 at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa.
Among the weekend’s other weather-related cancellations and postponements:
Northern Allstars: Saturday's Northern Allstars Late Model Series event at Mudlick Valley Raceway in Wallingford, Ky., rained out.
Ozark: Saturday's first scheduled Ozark Limited Late Model Series event at Nevada (Mo.) Speedway rained out.
Carolina Clash: Saturday's Coltman Farms Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series event at Toccoa (Ga.) Raceway has been postponed with no makeup date immediately announced.
All-Stars: Saturday's Save A Lot American All-Star Series event at 191 Speedway in Campton, Ky., was postponed to April 18.
Revival: Forecast rain and unfavorable conditions has claimed the Revival Super Dirt Series Kansas twinbill scheduled for Friday at Humboldt Speedway and Saturday at Park City’s 81 Speedway. Officials are considering new dates.
CRUSA 602: Saturday’s $2,000-to-win Rogers-Dabbs Crate Racin’ USA 602 Sportsman Series show at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Ala., was postponed to a date to be determined. The track will run a program for its local divisions, including 602 Crates, on Friday.
