It seems like each year following the Castrol Gateway Dirt Nationals the same question pops up: Should the Late Model field be limited to invitees only? And each time it does, it seems like I have to defend the little guy.

One thing I like about the Gateway Dirt Nationals is that it’s one of the few events we have where low-budget and underfunded teams truly believe that they can compete with the sport’s big-budget teams. For drivers, often times the one thing they desire the most is simply MORE
